My name is Kayleigh Cabigon and I have been playing for San Diego Surf for the past six years. My primary position is center forward, but I can also play left and right wing, in addition to center mid. I am versatile and effective anywhere I am needed and I am equally strong with my left and right foot. I am a dynamic, powerful, attacking minded player, who not only scores many goals, but also acts as a playmaker who creates scoring opportunities for my teammates.
I have sharp technical ability and I am not afraid to take players on 1v1. I have good spatial awareness and have a unique ability to exploit space behind and in between defenders. I make intelligent runs off the ball and link up seamlessly with my teammates to create scoring opportunities. My strong soccer IQ and my decision making make me a key player on my team. In addition, I have been playing futsal for the past 8 years. It has taught me how to think quicker on and off the ball, and the importance of having tight ball control. I have won numerous regional and showcase championships, and even a US Youth Futsal National Championship.
One of my biggest contributions to my team is my leadership on and off the field. As a team captain, I guide my teammates and motivate them with positive energy and words of encouragement.
Although the Fall of 2025 will be the start of high school for me, I plan to continue to have high academic standards for myself. I maintained a 4.0 GPA for all three years of middle school, while participating in many school events and managing a busy soccer schedule.
