My name is Sofia Turano and I am a goalkeeper for the Surf San Diego 2010 ECNL team. I am calm under pressure, with quick reflexes and a range of shot stopping abilities. I can anticipate plays which allows me to make quick reaction saves, punch outs, or a full extension dive. I am aggressive with corners and 50/50 balls, often coming off my line to slide tackle. Distribution and passes are accurate and intentional.
I am vocal and regularly communicate with my backline. I have mental toughness, a high soccer IQ, and a strong work ethic, always trying to improve.
I was the starting goalkeeper as a freshman on my varsity soccer team at Rancho Bernardo High School and helped lead my team to the CIF semi-finals.
When I’m not playing soccer, I enjoy strength training, snowboarding, wakeboarding, swimming, and flag football.
