Hi, My name is Zoey Nelson and I’m an attacking midfielder for San Diego Surf G10 ECNL. I'm known for my energy, creativity, and passion for the game.
I'm a dynamic player who thrives on the ball. I constantly look to play forward, break lines, and create scoring opportunities. Other key qualities include a strong understanding of the game, smart decision-making, and the technical ability to stay composed in tight situations and connect with teammates across the field. I have a growth mindset and a strong competitive spirit, and I'm always pushing myself and others to perform at their best.
Off the pitch, I'm a caring and encouraging teammate who builds friendships easily and contributes to a positive team environment.
Originally from Seattle, Washington, I relocated to San Diego before my sophomore year to continue my academic and athletic journey. I previously attended Seattle Prep, where I maintained a 3.9 GPA, and am now enrolled with YSC Advantage within the San Diego Surf girls' soccer academy. I joined Surf to challenge myself in new ways and to continue growing as a player, teammate, and leader.
Outside of soccer, I enjoy swimming, Speed and Strength Training, and spending time with my family and friends.
